Workplace Health Programme

While consumers are the lifeblood of our growth, we are aware of the backbone of our business—our staff. PSC recognises the contribution of its employees to the success of the organisation. So to ensure the well-being of the PSC family, we have introduced the Workplace Health Programme (WHP) to cultivate a healthy working environment for the mind, body and soul.

In 2006, PSC earned the Singapore HEALTH (Helping Employees Achieve Life-Time Health) Award (Bronze). This award is presented by the Health Promotion Board to give national recognition to organisations with commendable Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) programmes.

The WHP includes the organisation of health promotion classes such as aerobics, kick-boxing and yoga. On top of these, we have periodical health workshops on ergonomics and healthy-cooking. Employees are regularly informed on social issues such as Aids and the damaging effects of smoking.

In our bid to encourage employees to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, sporting competitions such as badminton and bowling are held annually. Besides keeping our people in a good shape, they also help to bring together employees from different departments to foster a cohesive community.

Recreation and facilities

Apart from the well-received WHP, we have state-of-the-art facilities for our staff to reward themselves after a hard day’s work. There are, to name a few, BBQ pits, a sprawling garden, a gymnasium, a pool table, a karaoke system and not to forget a pantry that is always well-stocked.

Now and then, the recreation committee organises events for both staff and their families to take part in. Such events include movie outings and quick getaways to neighbouring countries.

In such a work, or rather, work-life environment, it is no wonder our people stay together and grow together.
